Hey Michele, thanks to you, Tony, and Harold for setting up and facilitating this course so well.

The different levels of participation definitely helped and although I may have assumed roles that don't clearly fit into the descriptions for each week, I felt comfortable doing stuff I wanted to in the time I had.

The social aspect did draw me in. I responded to discussions, etc. more than I would have (I'm pretty introvert and am a classic case for Spectator level in general). But, I realised though the forums that the community has learners at so many different levels in every topic. That was just like me. So I could connect with them and their experiences better.
I might have been as interested if this course was a tutorial. But, I may not have been as participative or active. I may not have gone out there and tried things on my own. It may have ended up as just a sit back and listen/see feature, with no practical value. And that would've defeated the entire purpose, wouldn't it?

Hi Vineetha--What a great summary of the learning experience! One thing I think is interesting is how many people indicated that they liked the ability to select different levels of participation. As you point out, it seems to have removed the pressure to accomplish some particular set of objectives, which, in turn, seems to have really helped with people's learning experience.

It also seems like the social aspect of learning drew you in. I wonder if you would have been as interested if the course had been done as a tutorial.

Yeah, I was surprised by the new look too. It does make life easier too. Now I can read and write e-mail and view all my feeds from within the same page. I don't need to go anywhere else.
To add delicious, you can just click the add stuff link and search for delicious in the Search for Gadgets box. It returns a long list of related widgets you can choose from.

Hi,

Yes, this might well be an IE issue. The way IE manage extension is not always effecient and more memory is used for each tab/window opened.
For now, we do not see any solution to work around this in IE (for coComment extension)
In Firefox, we do not have such issues.

What worked for me during the 31 Day Blogging project was to tackle several days tasks in the one day (7 worked well) - it was more time effective, gave me a good run to think about my learning plus meant I maintain balance. Here is an example I how I did it. Also I used to check what the others had learnt before doing my tasks (helped by adding to my learning). I've set up a page on the wiki that is bringing in all the latest post plus it includes the RSS feed that you can subscribe to for easy searching these posts (using Google Reader).I manually added your posts to this page for now.

I think many bloggers begin by watching (OK, so it is called lurking) other blogs, and then they try to find their voice as writers. This is a natural progression, and I think that a comment challenge might be one way to explore many different blogs, and gather ideas for yourself.

Came across your blog in the Comment Challenge.

I am a huge fan of wikis and blogs . We're into our second year of using them (Year 7 students). They are learning so much from each other as well me and we are all learning how to use various web2.0 tools at the same time.

Our class wiki is the hub with

our class blog branching off the side.

One of the most helpful e-Learning areas for me is

Hello Vinnie...kind of stumbled upon your blog. I think you'd be surprised at what you can do with the rapid elearning tools. Unfortunately, many people are stuck in a "template" paradigm, but that doesn't have to be the case.

In fact, you can do quite a bit. Check rapidelearningblog.com. I've got a lot of examples of things that are more than templates.

For example, consider the points you made about web 2.0. Well, with the authoring tools there's no reason why you couldn't incorporate them easily into your course. I've built courses that include wikis and forums inside the module. That's something I couldn't easily do with Flash. And yet, I was able to do that in minutes with the authoring tools.
